There are days when you don’t feel like overloading your face with too many make-up products. In fact, you wish to look like you don’t have any make-up at all. Then you see these tiny blemishes… unhealthily-shiny skin… dark under eye circles… It turns out that you don’t need a full make-up or many colored products to look radiant, fresh and stunning. A few simple moves and clever tricks will do to enhance your beauty and give you a totally natural look. How? Welcome to the land of subtlety.
Make-up that doesn’t exist
The secret of subtle make-up lies in perfectly camouflaging all imperfections and enhancing the beauty of the skin, keeping make-up almost invisible at the same time. If you’re not into a bold look, no make-up make-up is made for you.
It is extremely easy to apply and what’s more – takes little time. You don’t need many cosmetics; the secret lies in the right choice. How to apply make-up which looks like it isn’t there?
What you need to apply no make-up make-up?
- Liquid concealer
- Make-up primer
- BB or CC cream (you can give it up if you don’t want foundation-like products)
- Eyebrow mascara
- Eyelash mascara
- Transparent loose powder (bamboo, rice or mineral)
- A subtle blush
Natural-looking no make-up make-up step by step
- Cleanse your face with a gel, foam or micellar water, wipe it using a toner respecting your skin type.
- Apply a make-up primer to the face skin. If your skin tends to get oily – choose a mattifying base. If it’s dry or tired – get an illuminating primer. You must be careful not to apply too much because the product will settle in skin creases creating an unnatural effect. A pea-sized drop works for covering the whole face. Precisely tap the primer with your fingertips.
- If dark under eye circles or puffy eyes are your regular problems – go for an under-eye concealer. Because your make-up is supposed to be subtle, the consistency of the concealer is the key to success: it should be smooth, a bit watery and ideally tailored to the skin tone. Liquid concealers are made for this. Smooth the concealer over the under-eye skin and tap in with fingertips for a seamless effect.
- If your skin features lots of blemishes, pigmentation spots, pimples or open pores – try a BB or CC cream which adds fresh skin color, camouflages imperfections and keeps skin healthy. Many women apply such products only to ‘strategic’ face parts e.g. nose, forehead and chin.
- For a satin-like matte, freshness and seamless skin tone – use a loose powder. Transparent white powders e.g. bamboo or rice powders are cut out for no make-up make-up. If you’re into high-end cosmetics – pick a mineral powder which masks and mattifies, ensuring the highest-quality skin care.
- Eyebrows make up the frame for your face so gently enhance them. You don’t need to define them with a pencil or pomade if you don’t feel like it or you’re pressed for time. One stroke of a brow mascara in the suitable color will do. In this way, you give your face a character and liven up your eyes. If you’ve applied too much of a brow mascara – take the excess off with a clean eyebrow comb.
- Apply a mascara – if you have fair skin and hair – try a brown mascara – this will give you a very delicate, subtle effect. Women having dark hair, lashes and brows should go for a black mascara – preferably the one that separates and styles lashes, giving a nice, natural result. Mascaras with silicone wands are made for this, having properly shaped and arranged bristles.
- To make the face fresh-looking and avoid the cake-like effect after applying a loose powder – gently pat some blush on the cheeks which gives a youthful and rested look.
If you feel like it – get a lip gloss in a neutral shade. Still, an ordinary protective lip balm is ideal for no make-up make-up. This kind of make-up is cut out for hot summer days. Your face keeps fresh, the foundation doesn’t drip off.
